SED 511 Organization and Collaboration in Education

This course explores the organizational structure of schools and elements of collaboration between special and general education to support students in general education settings. Students will develop an understanding of the historical, legal, and social foundations of serving students with disabilities and the impact on schools. Topics focus on the interrelation between and among school-based professionals, with attention to various modes of problem-solving and systems change to support effective collaboration at all levels in the school organization, including family-strengthening partnerships. Emphasis is on content, co-teaching and inclusion. Fall, Spring Summer.
