Certificate in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination

Program Overview:

The certificate focuses on the integration of accounting, auditing, and legal investigative skills for the purpose of the prevention and detection of financial statement fraud and the knowledge to prepare expert testimony. Since the term “forensic” means “relating to, used in, or suitable to a court of law,” the certificate will cover evidence gathering and preparation within a legal framework. Building on a basic knowledge of accounting and auditing, the two aspects of the forensic accounting field, forensic accounting and fraud examination, will be covered in terms of investigation and litigation support. The certificate introduces the basic knowledge required for the Certified Fraud Examination.
