ART 527 Bridging Museums & School

Service learning elective

Elective course available on an every other year basis. Students will visit three different museums or galleries that have museum education programs, and learn how art educators in museum or teaching gallery settings develop presentations and/or lessons, and utilize teaching strategies to engage a variety of age levels and learners. The course will culminate in the development of a short unit that could be used by the institution, based on a past or present exhibit; or possibly one that will be installed in the near future.
