ART 522 Theories of Art Education
Analysis of attendant issues and development of art curriculum/pedagogy appropriate for the 21st century learner living in a culturally diverse world. Special emphasis placed on the interface between contemporary art and contemporary theories of teaching. Requirements include intensive reading assignments, independent journal reviews, class presentations, and action research with at risk teens. No pre-requisites for students in Professional Certification track. For students in Initial Certification tracks, prerequisites include ART 516, ART 523. Materials fee. Summer
