POS 362 Constitutional Law:Civil Liberties

This course will examine the development of civil liberties throughout American history.Students will examine changing conceptions of such provisions of the Bill of Rights as the 1st Amendment's guarantee of freedom of speech, the 4th Amendement's prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures, and the 8th Amendment's prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment.Most reading will consist of Supreme Court case law.
