HIS 247 Intro to Caribbean History
In this course students analyze and discuss the European discovery and colonization of the Caribbean from the 15th through the 19th centuries from indigenous, European, and African points of view. Students will demonstrate historical knowledge of the conquest of Native Americans, the rise of indentured servitude, the expansion of African slavery and emancipation by interpreting primary source material, scholarly publications, and maps of global economies.
