CJS 429 Nature & Theory of Crime
This course is designed to provide students with a detailed overview of the theories of crime and criminality. Topics include: the legal and social definitions of crime and criminality; the extent and nature of crime; and, most importantly, a detailed examination of major theories and theorists of crime, including the questions and answers they both raise and fail to raise. Students will read both original and secondary sources. Prerequisite: CJS 111. Fall (alternating with CJS 428)
