MBA 651 Labor Relat & Collect Bargain

This course will build on fundamental management knowledge. It offers students a robust understanding of contemporary issues and will challenge students to examine labor relations from various lenses such as neoclassic economics, human resource management and industrial relations. The course takes students through the importance of labor relations in the United States. This will include understanding the history of the labor movement, relevant labor law and policy, and economic forces that inform the labor-management relationship. Students will get hands-on experience with collective bargaining through exercises such as mock grievance hearings. This is a highly analytical course that is designed to allow students to not only understand their rights as labor but also the how to navigate grievances, work stoppages, strikes and the like from a managerial perspective.
