ENG 271 19th C. U.S. Literature

Critical study of selected nineteenth-century US literary texts. Focus may be on a selected author or authors (e.g. Poe); period (e.g. literature of the Civil War); genre (e.g. the sentimental novel); cultural keyword; or some other topic. This course may be taken more than once, provided it addresses a different topic when taken again. (L04)
