Medical Technology – BS

Program Overview:

The Medical Technology B.S. is a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure-qualifying program. The College of Saint Rose, Rochester General Hospital and the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences maintain agreements for qualified Saint Rose students who wish to pursue a career in laboratory-related health science fields. The 3+1 program with Rochester leads to a baccalaureate degree at Saint Rose. The program at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a 3+2 program which leads to a baccalaureate degree at Saint Rose; and a Master’s degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Admission to the clinical component of Medical Technology at any of the sites is contingent upon the successful completion of prerequisite courses in the program as well as evaluation by the clinical affiliates and The College of Saint Rose.

Suggested 4 Year Course Plan:

This suggested plan is designed to give students an idea of how to balance their coursework over 8 semesters and to graduate within 4 years. Most students will need to take a minimum of 30 credits each year in order to meet the graduation requirement of a minimum of 122 overall credits.  It should be used along with your Degree Works worksheet and in consultation with your faculty advisor. It is meant as a guide, not a definitive list of courses that must be taken as written. Your faculty advisor will help you make any necessary adjustments during advisement.
