HIS 535 Colonial North America

This course will address recent developments in the study of colonial North America, with an emphasis on the social and cultural history of British North America to 1800. Topics include, but are not limited to, inter-cultural relations, the creation of the Atlantic world, the role of gender and sexuality in the shaping of empire, slavery and economic development, and racial representation and identity.
