HIS 527 Urban History

This graduate seminar explores the historical process of urbanization with emphasis on the impact of federal, state, and municipal policy on housing, zoning, labor markets, capital investment, and migration.Students will examine mulitple migrations that shape the contours of urban life and complex interplay between surburbanization, urban decline, and gentrification.
