HIS 260 African-Americans in the Transatlantic World

This course explores the social, economic, political and cultural impact of African migration to the New World, their contributions to the development of the western hemispheric economy and the development of the United States, and their struggle for freedom and citizenship.The course is a preparatory course designed for majors and Social Studies concentrators, emphasizing enhanced development of analytical and research skills. Open to HIS/POS majors and Social Studies concentrators, or with permission of the instructor. Fulfills diversity requirement. Fall, Spring (L03) (4 credits)
