ENV 357 Environment & Development

This course studies the relationship between environmental economics and development theory by quantifying the impact of a firm on its community and environment. Effects quantified range from the positive impact of jobs, salaries and voluntary services to the negative impact of pollution, congestion and resource drawdown. Analysis based on U.S. and international issues. Several fields are integrated such as social auditing, environmental accounting, environmental sciences, as well as ethical and legal issues. Prerequisite: BIO 235 or BIO 236.
