ENG 115 Intro to Film & New Media
This course is designed to provide students with the tools necessary to analyze and evaluate a variety of media, and to participate in their circulation.Course materials highlight a variety of intersecting theoretical approaches (e.g. aesthetics, media history, economic impact, cultural critique, national identity, reception/audience studies) and an array of genres (e.g. narrative film, avant-garde cinema, blogs, podcasts, digital video, and other emerging technologies).Emphasis on developing critical media literacies through analysis, research, and writing/composing.
