COM 315 Media Criticism

An introduction to theoretical approaches and practices used to analyze the content, structure, and context of various media in society. Students will explore factors shaping media texts, such as politics, economics, technology, and cultural traditions. Many of the dominant critical perspectives that contribute to our understanding of media will be read, discussed, and employed. Prerequisite: ENG 105 and COM 207 Film Arts.
