CHM 105/105L Environmental Chemistry
(Cross-listed with ENV 105) This is an introductory course for non-science majors who are interested in understanding the chemistry behind the major environmental issues facing us today. Some of the topics that might be included are air and water pollution, acid rain, ozone depletion, global warming, pesticides and herbicides, recycling, energy sources such as fossil fuels and nuclear power, radiation exposure, and other topical issues as they arise. CHM 105L Laboratory required. Illustrates principles developed in lecture and helps student develop laboratory skills and techniques. Lab Fee. Offered as needed. (L09)
