AHI 238 History of Art & Dance
This course explores the intertwined histories of dance and art in the Western tradition.Concurrent developments in ballet and modern dance and the visual arts are studied with respect to their cultural contexts.Topics covered include the employment of art and dance in Baroque court spectacle, and 20th century collaborations between Modern artists and choreographers.No prior knowledge fo dance or art history is required for this course. (Course fee covers bus ticket for trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.) (L05) (4 credits, L05, Prerequisites: ENG 105)
