Transfer Credit

Students may request that previously earned graduate credits (whether earned at The College of Saint Rose or at another accredited institution*) be applied to up to one-third of their program (plus 1-2 credits). Individual departments may limit credit requests by advisement; students should consult the program descriptions found in this catalog for specific details. Specific courses may be approved for transfer by the faculty reviewer during the admissions process and the department chair/program coordinator. Transfer credit is allowed only for courses in which students have received a grade “B” or better and are within the six-year time limit allowed for completion of a graduate program. Graduate level courses taken at another institution to meet bachelor’s degree requirements are not applicable for transfer into a graduate program. Students may not transfer courses after matriculation at Saint Rose without obtaining prior permission from their faculty advisor and the department chair/program coordinator. The Graduate Transfer Credit Form (available on our website) and an official copy of your transcript must be on file in the Registrar’s office before any transfer credit will be awarded.

*Credit must be from a U.S. regionally accredited institution or an international institution with equivalent accreditation as determined by the faculty. A credit evaluation performed by a NACES member organization will be required for all international transfer credit.
