PBH 496 Senior Sem in Public Health
This seminar is open to Public Health majors in their senior year. A basic course goal is to help students integrate the knowledge and skills they have acquired in previous sociology courses. The seminar differs from other classes not only by requiring that students participate more actively, but also by requiring that they take a significant role in conducting class sessions. Course enrollment is limited to promote students involvement and participation. Significant reading and independent analysis are expected for seminar participants. The topic of the class differs by year. Regardless of the topic, the class will include a look at the forces that create differences in health (the demographic, epidemiologic, and disease factors of transmission) along with a critical look at the policies directed at issues. Prerequisite: PBH 312. Fulfills writing-intensive requirement. Spring.
