AHI 215 Art and Crime

The course explores the many ways art and crimes intertwine. Approaches may include: analyzing paintings, films, and novels about crimes; studying infamous art thefts, for example that of the Mona Lisa; and considering art forgeries as well as crimes against cultural identity. The course may also consider the role of Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization in recovering lost art. It will include two trips to New York City. (L05)
