CJS 428 Life Course Criminology
The purpose of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of contemporary research and theory on the life course approach to explaining criminal behavior. This approach considers the various influences that shape offending behavior across different time periods and contexts of one's lifespan. Issues of the utility of developmental versus static theories of criminal behavior, persistence and desistence of criminal behavior will also be considered. Prerequisite: CJS 111. Fall 2019
