CJS 423 Advanced Crime Mapping
This course builds upon the mapping foundation built in Crime Analysis and Mapping CJS 422. Since CJS 422 is a prerequisite all students are already familiar with spatial considerations regarding crime and knowledgeable in ESRI ArcGIS 10 skills such as layer control, geocoding, symbology, labeling, exporting and printing. This course expands on those basics with skill such as editing shapefiles and annotating labels. New statistical concepts will be introduced including items found in the SPACE Tool including buffering layer, sequencing, nearest neighbor and hot spotting. In addition, i2 Analyst Notebook will utilized to teach link charting. Prerequisite CJS 422. As needed
