AHI 211 Pre-Columbian & Latin Amer Art
A survey of art, architecture and visual culture from the Pre-Columbian era to present day Latin America. Postcolonial theories are introduced to frame discussions of art made during the colonial period and further developed to discuss themes such as indigenous rights and the effects of globalization in the era since independence. May include a Saturday trip to New York City art museums and galleries; transportation will be covered by the course fee. Fulfills Diversity Requirement. (L05)
