LRC 570 Literacy for Eng Lang Learners

This course examines the five essential elements of reading and considers how these should be taught to ELLs in terms of individualizing and adapting instruction and materials. Also examined are effective writing instruction and the use of technology in supporting ELLs. Candidates in this course are required to apply what they are learning and teach three lessons to small groups of ELLs in an agency or classroom program designed to serve them.
