PSY 352 Health Psychology

An examination of the applications of psychological research and theories to physical health. Topics covered include stress and coping, health protective (e.g., exercise) or health compromising behaviors (e.g., smoking), the relationship between health care professionals and patients, and specific chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disease and cancer). Throughout the course, a biopsychosocial model of health will be emphasized. Prerequisite: successful completion of PSY 110 or PSY 111 with a C or better. Fall
