BIO 100 Fundamentals of Biology
An introductory course for non-majors in fundamental principles of biology. Students will explore the process of scientific investigation with emphasis on the applications of biology in contemporary life. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the concepts and content of science, as well as learn how to apply this scientific information to the living world. Laboratory exercises are developed to provide the student with hands-on experience with the process of science. The objectives are to reinforce basic principles of biology, improve the student’s ability to reason scientifically and to develop a sense of inquiry, understanding and appreciation of the role of laboratory science in advancing knowledge of the nature of life.
