The Neil Hellman Library

The Library contains over 160,000 volumes, 1,500 periodical subscriptions, over 312,000 microforms, and subscriptions to 90 web-based journal packages, which provide access to over 45,000 magazines, journals, and newspapers. The Library also provides access to over 248,000 electronic books. Membership in the Capital District Library Council and the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) network provide access to materials from libraries worldwide through interlibrary loan.

The Library provides Mac and Windows computers for student use. In addition to public workstations located throughout the building, the Library has laptop computers that students can check out and use throughout the building. A wireless network provides Internet access through all four floors of the Library. All computers have browsers, Microsoft Office software, and various desktop applications installed. Students can print from anywhere in the building. The Library’s subscription databases and other electronic resources are available to students from anywhere on or off campus.
Librarians are available in person, over the phone, e-mail, or via chat (24/7 assistance) to help with any library or research needs. Personal, one-on-one research assistance is available on an appointment basis.

The Library has weekday, evening, and weekend hours during the fall and spring semesters, and the library is open year round. Library hours can be found at: https://library.strose.edu/hours.
