CSD 596 Literacy Institute

This course involves the study of theories related to the development of literacy skills, namely, speaking, listening, reading, and writing in children and adults. It explores multicultural literacy, the assessment of reading and writing disorders, and intervention strategies to meet literacy needs. Students participate in small and large group discussions on the role of the speech-language pathologist with regards to literacy and its relationship to language skills. Summer.
