ENG 576 Contemporary Literature

A course designed to address a variety of forms (including novel, poetry, film, etc.) in English published after 1968. Critical reading and discussion will focus on the structure, content, and contexts that align these texts with, or separate them from, previous traditions. Course may address a specific movement (e.g., the Blank Generation), theme (e.g., modern love), or genre (e.g., immigrant narratives). Topics will vary; consult semester course listing for specific content. (3 credits)
