EPY 522 Child & Adoles Development

A study of psychological and developmental issues from birth through adolescence across diverse populations. A general theoretical overview focusing on cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development will be studied with attention given to the role of culture on these developmental processes. Resources for educators to address and prevent substance abuse in the context of supporting healthy development will be discussed. Theory and research are presented with an emphasis on applications to education. Fall, Spring.
