CSD 602 Multicult & Multiling in CSD

The purpose of this class is to develop an understanding of the contemporary professional issues in SLP as they relate to individuals who are diverse both culturally and linguistically. Students will demonstrate the following learning objectives consistent with ASHA standards. Students will develop a theoretical understanding of the issues of cultural and linguistic diversity including an understanding of the diagnostic criteria used to identify children and adolescents who are diverse. Knowledge of the various evidence-based interventions and treatment plans for children and adolescents will be explored.
