BDA 660 Machine Learning with R

This course introduces students to R software. Students taking this course will learn the common tasks in machine learning workflow such as data exploration, data processing, model training, testing, deployment and evaluation in R. Students will discover machine learning tools to gain insights from complex data sets and learn how to use the right machine learning model for specific problems in R. Students will work on real-life data to deal with common tasks, including clustering, market analysis, regression, forecasting, decision tress and classification with Bayesian and nearest neighbor methods. This course requires familiarity with basic programming concepts. Prerequisites: BDA 620, CSC 522.
