NSG 311 Evidence-Based Practice
The purpose of this course is for students to understand how evidence is developed and used to guide nursing practice. Specifically, the course focuses on identification of practice issues and appraisal and integration of evidence to improve nursing practice and patient outcomes. The research process, clinical judgment, inter-professional perspectives and patient preference are examined. Students will learn how to integrate reliable evidence from multiple ways of knowing to inform practice and make clinical judgments to improve patient outcomes. Strategies to disseminate evidence supporting best practices are a component of the course. Prerequisites:
