Degree Requirements (21-24 credits)

Core courses (all required):

Students must take four courses from the following categories, with a minimum of one course from each of the three content areas:

Examination of regions from which Latinos emigrate to the United States

HIS 155	Gender in Latin America
HIS 249	Latin Amer Colonialism	4
HIS 250	Origin/Dev Modrn Latin America	3

Examination of minority and immigrant cultures in the United States

AMS 250	Amer Studies:Theory/Practice	4
AMS 251	Urban American Studies	4

Manifestation of Latino culture through literature and the arts

SPA 307	Surv Spa-Amer Lit	3
SPA 345	Latin American Film	3
SPA 400	3 Cont.La Am Nov1	3
HIS 150	Lat Am Film/Novel	3
AHI 211	Pre-Columbian & Latin Amer Art	4

Additional courses will be considered on an individual basis as fulfilling the content areas above, and subject to approval by the Chair of the Department of World Language & Cultures.
