SEC 470 Stud Tchg 7-9 & 10-12
This practicum is designed to provide teacher candidates with a semester long, full time experience as a teacher in a classroom setting. Candidates will complete 7 weeks with a 7-9 grade teacher and 7 weeks with a 10-12 grade teacher. Candidates will gradually assume greater levels of responsibility in the classroom. The candidate will develop and implement a service learning project. Application must be made by February 1 for the Fall semester, and by October 1 of the preceding Fall semester for a Spring student teaching placement. Prerequisites: good standing in the School of Education; required GPAs (2.75 in major and in education courses, 2.5 overall); grade of C or better in every required education course; completion of education sequence and required workshops. Students must obtain fingerprint clearance prior to beginning field experiences. Co-requisite: SEC 498. Open only to majors at Saint Rose. Fall, Spring
