ESC 440 Geochemistry
Crystal chemistry control on the distribution of elements in rocks, soils, and the hydrosphere. Geochemical cycling, residence time, aqueous-terrestrial-biologic-atmospheric interactions, and evolution of the crust and hydrosphere geochemistry. Principles of mineral-solution equilibria including composition-Eh-pH diagrams. Lab includes an overview of principles and methods of analytical techniques in geochemistry and geochemical modeling (computer modeling of geochemical processes). Lab Fee. Prerequisites: ESC 310 and ESC 410.
