ENG 223 Early Amer Literature

Selected readings in the literatures of colonial North America and the early United States in transatlantic/hemispheric context. Authors studied may include Las Casas, Rowlandson, Marrant, Franklin, Equiano, Wheatley, Jefferson, Crevecoeur, Rowson, Tyler, Brockden Brown, Sansay, and Stowe. This course may be taken more than once, provided it addresses a different topic when taken again. (LO4)
