AHI 400 Contemporary Art

The course is an exploration of major trends in art from the second half of the 20th century to the present. Emphasis is on examining contemporary work, putting the work in a historical context, and understanding the language defining critical debates surrounding given works of art. Painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, video, conceptual art and performance art may be considered. It is intended for students in a five year program pursuing a Masters degree in Studio or Art Education Fall. (4 Credits)
